Blackstone Corridor PBID Community Workshop Recap
The City of Fresno and CivicMic held an open house community workshop on May 13 for local Blackstone Avenue property owners. Attendees had a chance to ask questions, get answers, and voice support or concerns.
Thank you to all who attended! For those unable to attend, materials from the workshop are posted here for review, including community survey results. Please fill out our brief poll indicated whether or not you support a potential PBID in the Blackstone Corridor.
Blackstone Avenue PBID Survey Results:
Overall ratings are strongly negative on core conditions, especially landscaping/trees, safety/security, overall appearance, cleanliness/litter, and support for local businesses. Parking is the only area that trends more neutral.
The top issue is homelessness, followed by building vacancies/blight, and the most requested improvements cluster around
beautification/landscaping, homeless outreach, followed by cleaning, lighting/safety enhancements, and marketing/business support. PBID familiarity is low, but stated support is high if it addresses the issues, and desire for more engagement is strong.

I unfortunately do not support this type of project, my belief is it won’t accomplish enough to make it worth the effort nor the funds. Maybe in the future after the plans for corridor get more built out.
