Downtown Solvang Improvement District Project Update

Schedule Update

The City of Solvang and CivicMic continue to explore the feasibility of a potential improvement district for Downtown Solvang. To help ensure that any potential district reflects the needs and priorities of the downtown community, the project team is continuing to gather and review information from property owners, business owners, residents, and other interested community members. This additional review will help support future discussions about potential services, costs, and next steps.

The project schedule is currently being updated, and future meeting dates will be shared once available.

Project Review Underway

The project team is continuing to review community input, refine potential services, review cost and assessment information, and coordinate with City staff. This work will help determine what services may be appropriate for Downtown Solvang and how a potential improvement district could be structured.

Community Survey Results

Earlier this year, community members were invited to share feedback through the Downtown Solvang Improvement District survey. Survey responses helped identify key downtown priorities, centered around traffic, parking, and congestion, as well as interest in services such as parking regulation enforcement, beautification and landscaping, marketing and business support, street and sidewalk cleaning, and additional public restrooms.
