Fairfield Restoration of Services

Fairfield Restoration of Services: LLMDs 7, 11, 13

In this post, CivicMic shares the Fairfield Restoration of Services announcement from the City regarding LLMDs No. 7, 11, & 13.

Fairfield Restoration of Services

Effective immediately, the City will restore irrigation and landscape maintenance services that were previously provided in the fiscal year 2020-2021, but were removed from the scope of work on January 1, 2022, as a result of the districts’ budget shortfall. As noted at the community and council meetings, landscape services will be provided as separate task orders, or small, one-time “projects”, dependent on weather conditions and the availability of landscape contractors, City personnel, and funding until the City can execute a formal contract amendment in the summer of 2022. The work will be performed on a routine basis once it is formally incorporated into the contract.

Our landscape contractors were on standby pending approval of the loan. Now that the loan is confirmed we will be working to ramp up services and finalize a monthly work plan starting on June 1. Between now and June 1, we will be addressing smaller projects like weed mitigation, lawn edging, and general clean-up when feasible.

Beginning in June 2022, the City will post a monthly project plan, which will identify the planned work for the upcoming month. The plan may be modified to accommodate new or emergent work requests.

Please note that the City will make every effort to reinstate services to the levels provided in the fiscal year 2020-2021, however, the final scope of work may differ depending on the availability of landscape contractors, City personnel, and funding.
