The Landscape Assessment District No. 39 (the “District”) (“LAD No. 39”) was originally formed in 1985 to fund landscaping improvements and ongoing maintenance. The District funds the servicing and maintenance of various private properties to mitigate brush fire hazards and enhance the appeal of the entire community. The District also maintains five developer-created mini-parks and trails. While the assessment fee remained locked at its original amount during the past decades, maintenance costs continued to increase. The City of La Habra Heights assessment district levies for the Street Maintenance Assessment District No. 7 (“SMAD No. 7”)  were recently levied for the Fiscal Year 2021-22 and are now available for viewing on CivicMic. CivicMic works with The City of Diamond Bar (the “City”)  to facilitate community outreach and public engagement opportunities for participation in the collaborative governance process for the dissolution of Landscape Assessment District No. 39 (the “District”) and its proposed replacement with Landscape Assessment District No. 39-2022 to fund certain landscaping services and maintenance. Currently, the City services and maintains 5 mini-parks, 15 acres of slopes, 39 acres of open space areas, and other landscape and irrigation improvements in the District.
