In this post, CivicMic shares the timeline for LLMDs 5 & 8.
The public engagement process is shaped by your communities. Engagement is not a one-size-fits-all solution, and plans and schedules are subject to change.
First Survey
The survey is mailed to stakeholders within LLMDs to determine general priorities for improvements and common concerns.
Working Groups are Assembled & Meetings are Facilitated
Working groups are assembled to represent the interests of the community and spread awareness regarding the new prospective LLMDs for LLMDs 5 & 8.
Community Meeting 1
Host the first community meeting for LLMDs to discuss the budget reductions, the General Fund loan, and the 218 process.
Second Surveys
The survey is mailed to stakeholders within the LLMDs to gather feedback regarding the new prospective assessment districts.
Community Meeting 2 & Engineer's Report Review
Host a second community meeting for LLMDs to share updates to the proposed district details and discuss the Engineer's Report. This will take place as soon as possible following the City's review of the draft engineer's report.
Intent to Form New Assessment Districts
City Council considers Resolution Initiating Proceedings and Resolution of Intention which declares intention to establish the assessment district. The time and date of the Public Hearing are set.
Assessment Ballot Package Mailed
The assessment ballot package is mailed no later than this date (45 days prior to the Public Hearing).
Public Hearing and Ballot Tabulation
City Council holds Public Hearing and City Clerk tabulates the Assessment Ballots. City Council considers the Resolution Confirming No Majority Protest Exists and Ordering the Levy (or alternatively the Resolution Confirming a Majority Protest Exists and Abandoning the Proceedings)
Charges submitted to County
If approved, the assessment levy is submitted to the County of Solano.
