Ballots Mailed for Vista Citywide Assessment Districts

Ballots have been mailed to property owners for two City of Vista assessment districts:

  • Vista Citywide Street Maintenance Assessment District No. 2025-1

  • Vista Citywide Landscaping and Lighting Maintenance Assessment District No. 2025-2

These ballots relate to proposed annual assessments that would pay for the:

  • maintenance, operation and servicing of street lighting, traffic signals, street trees and landscaping in the public right of way of the City at current service levels
  • maintenance, operation and servicing of pavement repair and rehabilitation, re-striping, slurry sealing, overlay and street sweeping for streets in the City of Vista at current service levels

Let Your Voice Be Heard

You currently pay an annual assessment for these services, and the proposed assessments would replace existing ones. Assessments are based on the estimated benefit to each parcel. The cost of providing these essential services has increased, and a majority approval of cast ballots is required to continue funding them sustainably.

We encourage all property owners to return their completed ballots as soon as possible. Let your voice be heard in this important decision for the future of Vista’s infrastructure and public spaces.
