West Side CHD EMS Week

West Side CHD EMS Week

This year West Side Community Healthcare District (the “District”) is celebrating the 47th annual National EMS Week from May 15 to May 21. The purpose of this week is to honor and show appreciation for the contributions of medical workers on the front lines of our nation’s communities.

In honor of this celebration, the District will be hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the opening of a new more cost-effective, and financially sustainable EMS quarters within the District boundaries.

This year's EMS Week theme is “Rising to the Challenge”, and in light of the District’s financial difficulties, the District is demonstrating its dedication to the community and rising to the challenge by decreasing costs. The goal of this new EMS quarters is to assist the District in cutting expenses so that it can continue providing ambulance services to the community. Though this is insufficient to keep the District afloat financially, it is a step in the right direction.

The District’s EMS team is ready to provide lifesaving care to those in need 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Please join the District on May 20  to celebrate and recognize their EMS team for all the essential work they put in every day and for the ribbon-cutting ceremony opening of their new fire station. Come out for some food, community, and to learn more about your local ambulance services.
