CivicMic works with the West Side Community Healthcare District (the "District") to facilitate community outreach and engagement with opportunities for the public to help determine support for a parcel tax that would make it possible for the District to continue to provide ambulance services.

Initiation of Community Outreach and Survey
Gather and share information from residents about their understanding and perception of the District's services and how they are being funded as well as information about proposed future funding options.

First Community Meeting and Survey Results
Host a virtual community meeting to share survey results, discuss procedures for the formation of potential funding mechanisms, preliminary rates, and answer questions.

Recommendation of Special Financing District Funding Options
Funding options will be recommended to the District based on analysis and an election date will be decided.

Ongoing Engagement
Continue to share information about the proposed parcel tax, proposed budget, and rates. Consider comments and answer questions.

Second Survey
The second survey is mailed and posted to gather feedback from the community about the proposed parcel tax and final rates.

Meeting with Boad of Directors
A meeting takes place with the Board of Directors where they consider a Resolution Proposing the Parcel Tax Rate & Calling for Consolidation of Election.

Election Day
Registered voters vote on the proposed parcel tax.

August 10, 2023
Charges are Submitted
Charges for the newly-implemented parcel tax, if approved, are submitted to the County for placement on the secured property tax bills.
